I am so excited about the new ‘Art and Grape Under the Sea’ concept night at Atlantis, The Palm. It’s the new thing to do in Dubai and I can tell you that it’s awesome!
What is it exactly? Well, you have a relaxing night at Lost Chambers by painting with watercolors and enjoying unlimited grape and canapés. You are guided on your creative journey by Dubai artist, Lillian Mackey and at the end of the evening you can take your masterpiece home. It will be ready to be hanged on your wall. Lillian is hailing from Ireland and she is the head of Art and Design at Nord Anglia International School.
I was there with a friend of mine, mum from the same school, her son being in the same class with my youngest one. We haven’t really had a chance to go out just ourselves, without the kids around, and we didn’t hesitate to grab this opportunity. Have you ever been to The Lost Chambers without the kids? You always associate it with kids’ activities, don’t you? Well, here is another perspective. The ‘Art and Grape Under the Sea’ night can be an outing with friends, far from the noise of bars and nightclubs, or even a quality time spent with your husband. Of course, you don’t have to be an artist, otherwise you won’t have a good laugh at the end of the evening, once the “masterpiece” is ready.
Did you know that contemplation of fish in an aquarium affects the reduction of stress and anxiety and provides health benefits, including lowered blood pressure? This study published by researchers from the National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth and Exeter University was the inspiration for ‘Art and Grape Under the Sea’ concept.
The two-hour event from 8.30pm-10.30pm costs AED 395 and includes entry into The Lost Chambers Aquarium, expert tutorial, unlimited grape and canapés as well as the chance to take your masterpiece home. All equipment is supplied.
